Commercial Manager

A leading UK-based main contractor is seeking a skilled Commercial Manager to join its dynamic team in Birmingham. With schemes spanning residential, commercial, healthcare and mixed-use developments, this is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping high-profile projects across the region.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the commercial delivery of construction and development projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flows to ensure financial targets are met
- Oversee procurement strategies and subcontractor negotiations
- Provide commercial insight and strategic direction to optimise project performance
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies
- Mentor and support junior commercial staff
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within construction or property development
- Strong understanding of contracts (JCT/NEC) and commercial management principles
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- MRICS/MCIOB qualification is desirable but not essential
