The position:
Salter Grange are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to take a leading role in the fit-out of a £138 million commercial development in the City of London for a main contractor. This is a critical position for a skilled professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and has a passion for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
As the Construction Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day on-site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring the smooth delivery of the fit-out, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all on-site activities during the fit-out, ensuring progress aligns with the project programme
- Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring works are completed to specification and schedule
- Enforce rigorous quality control measures to ensure all finishes meet the project’s high standards
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety on site
- Address and resolve site challenges promptly to keep the project on track
- Represent the company on-site, maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the wider project team
- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager, including progress, risks, and any required adjustments to the programme
Requirements:
- Significant experience in site management roles, particularly on high-value fit-out projects, within in the commercial sector.
- Strong understanding of fit-out processes
- Proven ability to lead site teams and subcontractors effectively, maintaining productivity and morale
- A meticulous eye for quality and the ability to ensure high-spec finishes
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold Card), and First Aid certifications are essential
